Review on 🐈 Enhance Your Cat's Flap with Cat Mate Wall Liners (234 & 235) for Ultimate Convenience by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Detailed Dimensions & Information

I needed to install a Cat Mate 4-Way Latching Falling Door with White Insert (Model 235W) through the inside wall of my home. I was hesitant to buy these dowels for a long time as they are overpriced for what they are. I considered all possible alternatives to purchase such as: Bending sheet metal for wall paneling but ended up buying it to save time and have a nice finished look. The description of the item was not clear enough for me to understand how many wall inserts I needed. I bought a Cat Mate cat flap with a door panel, so I figured I could get away with just buying a panel. However, as mentioned in the reviews, for regular interior walls in US homes, you will most likely need to buy 2. This product appears to be made in England so I think the walls are thinner there. I am rating this product 5 stars because it does what it says on the tin and seems reliable. The price is right and I ended up buying it, so I can't give it a single star. Basically, I'm writing this review to provide missing specs from the product description so people know exactly how many wall inserts they may need to purchase. for your project. I wish Revain would continue to allow customers to upload images because if they did I would be uploading images of the front and back of the product packaging which is much needed on this Revain product page to clear up a ton of confusion. The wall covering comes in a Cat Mate box and the front says it is compatible with the following Cat Mate Cat valves: 234W, 235W, 234G, 235G, 234B, 235B. If you bought the Cat cat flap without a door panel, you need to take this into account. The door panel offers about 1.5 inches. On the cat flap model I purchased, 1 wall panel provides a maximum of 3 1/8 inches of clearance from the outside of one wall to the outside of another. When using 2 wall panels, the maximum allowable distance from the outside of one wall to the outside of the other is 5 1/8 inches. When connecting wall panels, do it through a system of grooves and grooves. One wall panel slides into the groove of the other and the cat flap slides into the groove of the wall panel. The groove depth is about 1/2 inch. So there is some wiggle room where you can pull the wall paneling out of the groove a little to buy yourself 1/8" or 2/8" in each groove and groove joint. So if you have 2 grommets you can pull each bushing out of the grooves a bit to probably buy yourself an extra 1/2" deep [2/8" (grommet 1 into grommet groove 2) + 2/8". (flap in wall paneling groove 2) = 4/8" = 1/2"]. On the back of the product packaging, the manufacturer states the recommended amount of wall covering for a given wall thickness. Here is the info on the back of the box: Wall Thickness - Required Linings * 51-99mm (2-4") - 1101-149mm (4-6") - 2150-199mm (6-8") - 3200- 249mm (8-10") - 4250-299mm (10-12") - 5* Use one additional liner for every 50mm of wall thickness
