These have been pre-cleaned and ready to use - I like matte marking pages and it's a good reminder of which side is vertical. I've washed and reused these slides and they dry without many water marks or scratches (but that's pretty much how I clean and dry them). However, I have had slides that became cloudy after a few washes, which is not the case. I would definitely buy again.
