Some work, some don't
Surprisingly, pot handles work quite well. The smaller domed handles that you put in the pan opposite the handle are terrible. First, they do not protect hands from heat at all. Secondly, if they are placed near a heat source - it is very easy if they are on a stove - they will discolor and disintegrate. If I were to buy again I would look for a deal that included these loop handles.
