I’m obsessive about brows. Before the advent of brow groomers, (1980s) I used hair gel oR SPRAY on an old toothbrush to keep brows in place. (It was invisible, unlike mustache wax, the "hack” at the time for beauty mavens in the know.) In the 90s, Lancôme's original Brow Sourcils became my go-to, and I mourned when the formula changed, as it lacked the hold and staying power. Since then, I’ve tried virtually every brand of groomer—tinted and clear—and was delighted recently to discover this one—at a GREAT price. It works alone, or after fill in with a waterproof pencil. Don’t use over powder.) The trick is to apply it to clean, dry brows, after doing your face and any waterproof eye pencil, but before your other eye makeup. Scrape any excess from the wand tip into the tube before applying (important), and then swipe the wand quickly over each brow in the direction you want your hairs to go. (I swipe from the bridge of the nose straight up and outward to the end of each brow, swiping just "up” first for a casual brow look, then move up/out to create a nice arch. Let it dry, and if like me you’re not precise, you can easily remove any excess with a swab lightly sprayed with alcohol. Finish eye makeup, being sure to keep powder shadow away from brows.
