175W High Intensity Discharge (HID) Lamps by Philips - Model 31358-5 Review

3 of them only lasted about 2 weeks before exploding. I had relatively new ballast/capacitor sets at the time AND I used nylon gloves to install them to keep oil out of them, so I KNOW they were blown bulbs.

The bulb didn't give me the lighting I needed. I had to send the lamps back and get a different picture. The problem with the balista, which requires 175W, has not yet been solved. Need to speak to someone in person (storefront) to decide.

That's what makes Revain so great. My wife mentions to me that the lights are out in one of her office buildings. I take the ladder and explore. Where the hell do I find something like that? I wonder. Raven of course. Two days later my wife tells me how wonderful I am.

I actually ordered the wrong part so I had to send it back and order the correct bulbs. Their customer support was great, they correctly identified the bulb I needed and set me up for a new order and emailed me an RMA number to send back the wrong bulbs. They were very polite, helpful and quick to respond.

Most didn't work. The picture shows the exact bulb that I changed. In fact, the wrong pear came. Came with a silver base, thin curved silver piece inside instead of the straight white as pictured and made in China (or maybe India. Can't remember exactly and I no longer have a chance to verify) not in the US like the one I replaced. Interestingly, I called an electrician (with a cherry picker) to replace these lightbulbs high up in the building. He just received a new box of Philips lightbulbs…
