It helped me get through my pregnancy. All 4 had varicose veins. For the first 3 pregnancies I had knee deep veins at 20-30mmHg. From the fourth pregnancy, 2 socks to the knee at 30-40 mm Hg. Art. didn't help, i was in enough pain when i had to drive with my left foot and lift my bad leg and at the end of the day i could barely stand. Finally I saw the doctor. He said I had a bad saphenous vein, but I had to wait until the baby was born to close it with a laser. I had to switch to stockings because although I only had pain in my calf, my diseased vein was in my thigh (where everything was fine and I had no pain). I wore 2 socks 30-40mmHg. Art. Every day, in the pool, at the beach, in the shower and even after the baby is born. These socks were comfortable, durable and held up snugly throughout pregnancy. I had holes in the toes of my closed socks, but that's because I wore them barefoot outside. These really lasted a long time. I highly recommend these socks. And yes, the silicone on the upper helps them stay on their feet.
