This product will meet your expectations. It is very easy to fill and transport. In fact, I was very surprised at how little water I spilled walking around the house with him. I've bought water containers like this before and have always found that you track water around the house when you don't fill it where it should be. However, this one does a good job of not letting too much water leak out of the main tank. I will say that I have not tried this product with any food. We try to feed our rabbit mostly hay and this product was definitely not designed for that, so I can't say if it will stand up to any pellets. However, judging by the design, it's perfect for that. It's a little light, so definitely not intended for large animals. I'm guessing even most small dogs would knock it over, so you'll probably only need this if you're feeding a small cat, rabbit, or rodent. It goes great with our Mini Rex rabbit. Soon we will have a second one who will live in another room in our house. I definitely recommend this product!
