I used the switch to power the rear/traffic camera. The central rod went into the chamber, powered by one of the other rods. A pole was powered when the reversing lights came on so the reversing camera helped when hitching my 2 trailers. The other pole was powered by the taillights. As long as the taillights or headlights are on, the camera is on so I can monitor trailers and traffic while driving. (I have flatbed trucks that haul ATVs and UTVs.) It works well and I've already used it as intended.
