Review on πŸ“· Rugged and Reliable: Panasonic SDR-SW21 Shock & Waterproof Camcorder (Green) by Andrew Griggs

Poor video with every movement

I bought this camera last year and returned it a few days later because the video quality was very poor. If you moved at all while filming, the video produced was so blurry it made your eyes water to watch. It was uncomfortable to hold due to the shape. The Sanyo VPC-E1 and VPC-E2 record videos much better, but the VPC-E1 broke after 13 months and the VPC-E2 after 4 months. I've had a couple of Olympus Stylus waterproof cameras and they're a little more durable but the video quality isn't great - the colors are a bit dull but they handle movement better than these Panasonic! Panasonic video has nice colors and the video quality is good when standing very still or using a tripod. But come on, who can do that all the time? Canon, Fuji and Pentax also make good waterproof cameras so check those out too, but they're still photography oriented but can take decent video. In my opinion NO company makes a truly rugged, truly waterproof digital video camera. Bye.
