Review on Set of 6 Stainless Steel Buffet Serving Spoons for Banquet Service - Large Tablespoons Set for Cooking, Baking, Stirring, Mixing - Silverware for Parties, Soups, Restaurant & Catering Supplies by Kristi Davis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good quality, very unusual shape

A very oddly shaped spoon. The handle to spoon ratio is the same. This means that the part of the spoon is 5 inches and the handle is 5 inches. The spoon is more like a paddle, almost 3 inches in diameter, and shallower than scooped. I dare say it could almost be used like a ping pong bat, these are the proportions I am trying to describe. This is a niche spoon. , and it's going to be one of those finds that I say is perfect for his use. Maybe something like mashed potatoes or a denser filling that tends to stick to the more scooped surface of the spoon. But the serving platter should be round rather than oval in shape. And not too deep as the handle is only 5 inches. I like more traditional spoon shapes and have been looking for one to compliment my holiday meals. I will say that the quality is excellent, almost brushed stainless steel, and it's a good weight, which makes it more expensive. I'm coming back because it's not what I was looking for, but if you like eclecticism this is for you. (Edit the review to add that after browsing, they look like paddles you could use to serve sticky rice you made in a rice cooker.)

Pros
  • TABLE SPOON SIZE: Spoon measures 10" long and 1.37" great for stirring or collecting juice. The end of the shovel easily penetrates the corners of pots, pans and serving bowls, grabbing food quickly and easily.
Cons
  • The list will be long.
