It's hard to guess how much space is required between every 10 digits of a phone number on a For Sale sign. I made a mistake by entering some numbers and was a little wrong. But once those numbers come to the surface, peeling off to reposition them stretches and distorts the entire number, and the repositioning leaves the stretched areas to be massaged in place. Finally, I cut the number out of the sheet so I could position them all before removing them from the backing. If even one edge touched the surface, it had to be stretched to remove it. Very frustrating. If I had to design a set of stick-on numbers, I would either make them moveable until they rub against the surface, or mount each number on a clear backing so they can be positioned independently before the backing is removed.
