After decades of building, office, and driving and studying, I don't know what I would have done without my Theracaine. It has helped me more than any chiropractor or back specialist. It's not really a substitute for a quality massage, but it can be a very valuable tool. Sometimes, when I sit for a long time, I get terrible pains in the ribs and under the lower edge of the shoulder blade (unfortunately, among other things). The pain will be so bad that sometimes I can't sit and read or even lie down and it kills my ability to concentrate, but I can often get a cramp or whatever to stay seated just by applying constant light pressure they exercise the ball and occasionally move it to a new location nearby. It's also good for working with knots. Bottom line, it's not a panacea, but something I'd have a hard time without at the moment. I'll say it can take a lot of strength depending on how you use it (they probably don't renew it and neither do I) but I'm wondering if I wasn't in decent shape and hadn't the rest of my body would work well if I could make the best use of it.
