let me just be clear: the price of this fan is ridiculously high. I don't mind paying more for quality, but this fan doesn't live up to its price tag. At the time of writing this review, I've had this fan for just under a year and a half and have been using it pretty much every night. Advantages + Very quiet, even at high speeds + Moves a lot of air. + Features: There is a timer, many speed settings, remote control. Cons โ Grille rusts. on display - Expensive. The fan is very quiet, it's the quietest fan I've ever had. Even at the highest speeds it is much quieter than any other fan and at low speeds it is almost silent. And it moves a lot of air, even at low speeds. The power saving feature is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the fan has a crucial problem - the protective grille is rusting. Several other reviews mention this and it is true. It just rusts from the humidity in the air; I have never sprayed anything on the grill and try to keep the fan clean. If you use this in a place with very low humidity (a house with a dehumidifier or your house is in the desert) you may not feel it or it may take some time to be detected. This happened to our fan after about a year and we live in the Bay Area where humidity is low to moderate depending on the time of year. To me, this is an unforgivable flaw and the manufacturer must fix it before claiming the $150 prize. (So why did I buy it when I read the reviews that it can rust? Fair question. Problem so I was hoping it's a manufacturing defect which most devices don't concern. Now that I've seen it myself I think most reviews don't mention rust as most reviews are done right after receiving the fan and some people live in low humidity areas and just never see it.) I found the fan oscillation to be very slow is what makes them less efficient for circulating the air in a large room. The display has bright LEDs. For me this is a disadvantage because we have her in the bedroom and at night she lights up the space around her. I had to cover the LEDs with black tape to fix the problem. Not the end of the world, but absurd. I had to pick up the $150 fan. Other reviews mention that the fan is difficult to take apart for cleaning (and like any fan needs to be cleaned regularly). It has a very small screw that holds the two sides of the protective cover to the bottom and at least with my fan it was a tight fit and I definitely need a screwdriver, I just couldn't use my fingers. It's inconveniently located and it's hard to see what's going on. Generally this is not a problem for me, but I can see how it can be a problem for other people. I don't see this as a downside to the fan (I think more that it helps prevent the grill from rattling) but wanted to mention it as other reviews have mentioned it and I see it could be a much bigger downside . For someone else. So far the only real defect on the fan is a rusty grille, but that's enough. For $150, the grille shouldn't rust, it's just poor build quality. 1 out of 5 stars, I do not recommend.
