High marks for (a) the ease of adding two of these to my original purchase (years ago) of a base station and two phones of the same type, and (b) the same quality and features as my original one Purchase. bonus, bonus. Since each phone has the ability to copy its directory to every other phone in the system, synchronizing them as a fourth (but unwritten) step was easy. (Unfortunately none of the phones have the ability to replace or overwrite previous entries, but that has always been the case and is optional here.) Integrating the phones into my old system was easy, but step 1 to charge the batteries (in the included) charge seven o'clock, not for those who live for quick gratification. I let the charging stations run for a day and a half before doing the rest of the steps. Step 2: On the base station with the freshly charged phones in hand, press and hold the LOC button until you hear a beep and unregistered phones will beep. Step 3. Press the OK/Menu button on the phone you want to register. The beeping stops and the phone registers, otherwise you have 90 seconds before the beeping stops. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional phone. There is a clause in the instructions that instead of a beep, all phones can ring. NP just try again. I had no anomaly. Optional, unwritten, step 4. To copy the phone book, press the phone book icon button under the screen of the phone whose directory you want to use as a base, then press the Menu (Centre/OK) button. Show "New entry". Tap the round button under OK and you will see Copy All. Press OK again and you will see a list of other phones you can copy to (this will take a few seconds). For my setup, my base station indicated targets of -2345. On the base panel, press the key corresponding to the non-directory handset. The transfer can take a minute or more, long enough for the backlit menu to turn off as your catalog nears its limit, but in bright light you can still see a positive completion confirmation. **Because I am, I like phones. "Numbers mean something. "1" is of course assigned to the base station. I place the remaining phones as they move away from the base station. So #2 is in the other corner of the same (large) room and #5 is in the bedroom on the top floor. To stick to the deal, I moved phones #2 and #3 closer to the base and placed their "brothers and sisters" in "outposts". Why is it convenient? My reason: The phones have an intercom that can beep from one specific phone to another and then you can talk when you pick up the phone. You just need to know which number to signal. With this convention, there is no need to remember a combination. just an instinctive association. ** If you don't have a compatible station, don't expect these phones to work if you buy them without one. Offers a complete set of ways. The only wiring for phones is electrical at each charging station. The connection between the base (only the location with the telephone socket) and the registered handsets is wireless.
