I almost had second thoughts about the $4,300 that I spent on a wheel that was sized 205/55 R16. Various advantages: Excellent supple rubber can be purchased for a price that is not prohibitive. The ice holds the spikes like a "asterisk" in exact position. Wonderful tread, rows really well even in the snow. On an ice road, the car maintains a steady behavior in turns and does not blow up. On the street, there have been no reports of problems either. One potential drawback is that the sidewalls are not very thick; nevertheless, this has not been a factor so far.
