I bought a 120mm AC Infinity LS1238 low speed fan to cool my home AV receiver. The receiver is housed in a wooden case with minimal clearance at the top, bottom and back of the receiver. This created a situation where the receiver got very hot in a confined space even though the front of the case was open. I used a 5" hole saw to cut a hole in the back of the case and mounted this fan to the 1/4" plywood back of the case from the outside. The fan plugs into the receiver's 120V switched outlet so it turns on at the same time as the receiver. Although this is a low speed version of this fan, it moves a lot of air. Running about 12 hours a day, the receiver is now as cool as the surrounding room. From about 120 degrees to about 75 degrees. The only thing I wish there were 12 washers included with the mounting hardware.
