I chose this one because I wanted it to only hold my three most important chef's knives. I have limited desk space and rarely use other kitchen utensils. I bought a metal magnetic bar to mount on the wall but the magnets were too weak to hold the blades securely and I found that the main power goes into the house and the electrical box is directly on the other side of the wall is . right behind the only wall mount I had and traditional knife holders are too bulky and have dull blade edges. This was the perfect solution as it could be easily cleaned or moved to any desired spot on the countertop. The magnet is nice and strong, which I really like, but the base is a bit small so you have to hold the block with your other hand while you take out the knife. Otherwise it would easily be a five star item, but it's a compromise because it doesn't take up much space, which is well worth it for me in my small cramped counter space. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of useless, clunky, oversized knife holders that have pockets for rarely used knives and take up valuable counter space. If you don't want to sharpen your knives before each use, this is a great option for those who used to store their knives in a drawer where the edges bumped and other tools in the drawer when you opened it. It only fits knives up to 9 inches, so don't think it's perfect for the rest of the cutlery in the kitchen. so long.
