The outside and inside look exactly like the advertised pictures. This portfolio is 12 1/4 inches in height and a little less than 9 1/2 wide. I like the brass corners. They add style to the portfolio. I'll have to get used to only being able to use one note pad at a time, but that's ok. It's sturdy and stylish. The inside pockets are black plastic. I bought it to go with the bison denim 14 inch briefcase, $72.99 . (the black briefcase with the back zipper pocket) . And let me tell you . I only have one word for them matched together . Classy.
