The float can get stuck and when it does the pump will burn out as it will run dry.

The float can get stuck and when it does the pump will burn out as it runs dry. A better float is needed - it doesn't bounce up and down on a wire, more like regular household floats that move up and down a pole and activate a switch. (maybe magnetic or something)
