I'll be the first to admit that I'm NOT strong at electronics! So I was reluctant to purchase this item knowing I would have to download the software, collect the make and model numbers from my devices, key everything in and sync the systems. But I have too many remotes on my desk so it was overdue. The instruction manual told me it would take about 45 minutes to complete all the steps. I needed an hour and a half. Once you get the device information, everything else progresses steadily. The guide was very helpful, every step was easy and a few issues were resolved quickly. The software I downloaded recognized and synced all devices except my old Blu-ray player. A couple of times I rearranged the model numbers as I entered the dates and the program asked me if I was sure they were correct and allowed me to change them. The old Blu-ray player was too old for the system, but the solution was simple. I just paired this old remote with Logitech, pressed the suggested buttons and voila! My new remote control now controls this device. I also really liked being able to assign my favorite channel buttons. I looked at a lot of Logitech remotes and ordered this model because I liked the layout of all the buttons. There's a little more room for them on this console, and I'm able to avoid the pitfalls that result from the limited movement of my arthritic fingers. All in all it was a great purchase. I was scared at first, but now I've figured out my side table and am happily learning how to use Logitech!
