I had multiple cords for multiple low power devices coming out of the same socket with cube taps. This left an unsightly mess of wires in the outlet. With this power strip/surge protector, I was able to fix this problem by just plugging one thing into an outlet and hiding the surge protector under a piece of furniture. It also allowed me to get rid of the iPad wall charger by plugging the USB charging cable directly into the surge protector's USB port. I am very happy with this purchase.
