I bought these for my homemade kids gates at the top of the stairs. The screws that come with the kit are a possibility and if you mess up the alignment you won't be able to remove the screw. The heads of the screws break off easily and when pulled, the head comes loose. They're cheap to me, but drilling a head to remove is extremely powerful versus an extractor kit. It took me about 2 hours to try to remove the screw, remove the gate panel, crash into a tree to remove the lock and replace the panel. Left what was left of the screws in my railing. I just used regular screws to install the lock and it works great. The combination lock piece is very strong and is exactly what I'm looking for in a lock. It's easy to change the combination.
