Review on 🐶 IIT 99918 Coiled Tie Out Cable - 16 Feet: Secure and Reliable Pet Restraint Solution by Marko Forth

I have a 60-70 lb Pitbull/Beagle mix. He is very strong and really trains the cable. I've used this to strap my dog to a 100ft runner with a pulley and it does the job perfectly. I've read some reviews where dog owners have complained that the coils are too tight for their small dogs, making it difficult for them to stretch the cord. While this is no longer a problem with my dog, I used it on him when he was smaller and I understand that others are telling the truth. I found a simple way to solve this problem - stretch the coiled cord for about 24 hours. A good way to do this is if you have a chain link fence or chain link kennel. Simply attach one end of the wire to a point on the fence, then stretch it out, attach the other end and leave overnight. When you open it, it won't be wrapped so tightly, making it easier for a small dog to use. I last found these cables about a year ago where I live in Georgia. Over time, the plastic coating becomes brittle, water penetrates and the cable rusts. My first one broke after about a year of use, but for $6.58 (which is what I paid at Revain) it's a great value since my dog uses it daily. I am now about 6 months into my second and have a third on hand for when the second wears out. Table and my dog easily get tangled in it when they are on the floor. I don't think this will be too much of a problem for a big and strong dog like mine, but maybe with a smaller dog. This coiled cord attached to the floor gives my dog about 708 square feet of walking space. (Pi times the square of the radius). However, attaching it to a 100ft runner with a pulley gives it a lot more mobility. If you do the math, 100 feet x 30 feet (15 inches either way from center) equals 3,000 square feet of living space. That's more than the average family in a large country house. (Of course, there's another 708 square feet at the end of the treadmill, but I didn't include that in the calculation as there are trees and bushes in my yard that keep my dog from getting past the end of the treadmill.)
