Great battery life, very fast, terrible fingerprint reader

Battery life. I've been using this laptop for almost a year and regularly get 8 hours of battery life according to Windows battery usage statistics. I usually surf the internet, watch Netflix and play games from time to time. Pre-Installed Software. This machine came with a bunch of pre-installed software which I uninstalled immediately after setting up Windows using the Windows Update tool. I highly recommend this as you don't need any of the apps that Acer comes preinstalled on this laptop. Speed: no problem here. This thing is more than fast enough for its intended use: YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, Gmail, etc. I've never had RAM issues, even with multiple Chrome tabs open, and I've never had to wait too long. The device takes a long time to start up or wake up from sleep mode. Build Quality: This thing feels solid. I feel secure grabbing it by the corner of the base and often carrying it with one hand when I need to walk around with it. Fingerprint Sensor: The fingerprint sensor is just terrible. It reads my finger about 1 out of 10 attempts, which is rare enough since Windows always forces me to enter my PIN whenever I try to log in with it. Sometimes I can put my finger in the right position and it unlocks instantly, but that's very rare. I don't understand how my 5 year old phone could be so much better. The rest: I really have no other complaints about this laptop. Everything works fine and doesn't bother you, so you can just use the laptop.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
