Review on ๐Ÿ”ด Scepter FSCG552 Red 5 Gallon SmartControl Gas Can with Funnel - Efficient Rear Handle Design by Dan Deng

Revainrating 3 out of 5

No better than the old cans, but the best "safe " can so far.

Nothing quite compares to the speed and ease of use of old cans with a simple vent cap and nozzle. They were/are better in every way and caused less spills and headaches just because they were so simple. Most "safety" gas cylinders are ridiculously difficult to dispose of when a heavy canister is full of fuel, which many people drop or fiddle with the canister, which, despite having a feature that should reduce the chance of spills, makes for a messy spills. I usually just get the conversion kits and set up the vent and normal spout and "fix" glasses. This scepter design is actually quite decent and comfortable to use. It's not that fast and the jetting mechanism isn't very simple so someone with grip strength or arthritis can't use it. But for those with the dexterity, this sturdy can gets you metering what you need without much fuss, and includes a small extension funnel for filling your car's gas tank. Its spout is also an air intake so it sucks in air when the spout is open and it has a rubber hose so it pulls air past whatever you're pouring so it doesn't choke or suffocate when the air fights the flow. The mechanism seems to work. The best response is to place your palm on the smaller trigger, which releases the trigger, and wrap your fingers around the top to squeeze it back into your palm. You can make a partial or full opening to accommodate different flow rates. But even at full flow, it takes almost 2 minutes to empty the entire canister into your car or large motor equipment. I didn't see a way to block this so you have to keep it on all the time which is why this doesn't get 5 stars. Agility is important, and as your ability wanes, the chances of you messing around or dropping it increases. So my advice is to use it for small appliances or generators where a full tank won't run out, or for vehicles that use full capacity just for your garage and local use, or use less than capacity and take it light and quickly empty the tank while driving. 2-3 gallons for roadside assistance should get you to the station, and you're less likely to have an accident that you'll have to feel for the rest of the trip. making them almost useless, this one has everything you can get without going back to the old style with a conversion kit.
