Very Useful Gadget

After reading all the conflicting reviews I was a little hesitant to buy it but I'm so glad I did. I have an 8 year old Dell XPS8400 with an Intel I7 processor, very good setup back then but stuck with PCI@2 graphics cards. I hated buying a new computer as it is still very good and very fast is, even if he was added SSD. But I had to use both a 30 inch Dell 3400 X 2400 monitor and a new 4K monitor. The old graphics card was not suitable for this, limited to a resolution of 1900x1200 dpi on a 4K monitor. So it looks like it was the only real choice. , downloaded drivers, installed without problems and connected 4K monitor and immediate success. It's a pristine picture, and even the HD video is pretty damn good, better than expected. The mouse slows down a bit, so you have to move it more consciously. but that's okay I did a CPU load test before and after and on a dedicated USB3.0 header it's definitely pulling about 10-15% more load than before; jumps up to about 35% full screen, but I probably won't overload it unless you can run multiple processor programs at the same time. This is ideal for pure web use. But if you're running it on a lower powered I3 or similar processor, I can see how it can get more bogged down. On a well running computer, an I5 or I7 with minimal multiprocessing will run like a champ. I can guess that the tester's ng and other issues may cause CPU overload, which will definitely cause many problems. The adapter is warm to the touch, so storing it in a well-ventilated area will definitely prolong its lifespan. Overall I'm very happy with it and a good compromise as long as I don't need to upgrade my entire system.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: With the high-speed SuperSpeed USB 3.0 (5Gbps) interface, the USB video adapter acts as a convenient external video card, making video card installation easy.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
