After a fire in my apartment building, on my floor, third floor, I realized I couldn't handle a full blown fire - god forbid it ever was . So I took precautions to be prepared just in case. One thing I did was buy this pet carrier so I can get off my rescue rope ladder and still take my cat with me. I took short walks to get him used to it. It doesn't have a lot of space, but for my purposes it's for short-term use and I really don't want it moving around a lot if I really need to go down a rope ladder with it.
