These shears work very well except for the 'comfort grip'. They're lightweight, have well-formed handles, and allow you to make long, straight (or nearly straight) cuts in 26-ga galvanized steel without buckling the edges. Haven't tried them on a heavier sheet - I expect them to be fine at 24ga but struggle with anything over that. The problem with handle material is that it catches on the edges of the sheet metal you're cutting. Finally, the handle material is cut through the edges of the sheet metal. Since you have to wear gloves when cutting sheet metal, the handle material is of no use. Luckily, Malco sells the same pair of scissors without the comfort grip feature (search "Malco M12N") - these are the ones you should buy.
