Fits my 2000 Legacy Outback. Installation was an absolute pain, I guess it depends on which Subaru model you have. I also believe a lot of my problems are related to rack housing corrosion. The driver's side was the most difficult. If you're having trouble, I highly recommend unscrewing the gimbal on the steering shaft and sliding it down so the steering rack falls off a bit. Be sure to mark the U-joint before loosening it to make sure you put it back in place. Management feels very different. The steering wheel turns much harder, but not so much that it's a problem. ALSO it solved what I thought was an alignment problem. My car was often pulled to the side, especially on the track. I think it was due to the play of old worn out bushings (20 years old!). All in all a GREAT mod for the money. Nice noticeable difference. Be prepared, the installation can take a long time.
