I bought this kit for use in the chicken coop, combined with an old motorcycle battery, a Shelly Smart Relay and a spare 12v LED, it makes a pretty good figure budget low-voltage lighting system. However, there are some limitations of this charger that you should be aware of before choosing one. The built in timer is just a sunset delay when the panel stops powering. To use this with a chicken coop it is best to set it to constant and use a separate timer or smart relay to be able to turn on the light before sunrise instead. In addition, the charger does not fully comply with the instructions provided, particularly in relation to changing the battery type between flooded/absorbed/gel batteries. This is more important if you're using fancier batteries or if you're more concerned with keeping them in tip-top shape. Otherwise when I bought this set it was about $50 and I can't complain about the price. It's not as good as the solar panels on my van, but only costs 10% more. I would say that considering the price this solar kit is still a 5 star product.
