Really nice kit for the money and very easy to use. The patch method wouldn’t work for my tire as the nail was too close to the sidewall, about 1” or so. So the plug style would be more suited for this. It’s on a snow tire and I don’t drive crazy with it so danger of ripping the sidewall isn’t a concern and in my time as a mechanic I actually haven’t seen that. The kit is all in one, has all you need. Pliers, plugs, reamer, plug tool and grease. Has easy directions too. It can be hard and a little concerning if you are doing this for the first time if the reamer doesn’t go in that easily. It’s because you have to force the reamer in with a bit of strength. Once in make sure to ream out the hole well so the tire plug can go in without breaking the tool. Also make sure you look at the angle the nail went into the tire and make sure you take that into account when reaming and inserting the plug.I actually had a second nail closer to mid tread so this kit pays for itself with one tire plug and saves you money every time after.This tire plug kit and an air compressor will always be in my car for road trips. Never know when you might run over a nail.
