I knew I would buy a seat for less than $30 but wow that was bad. Received today and started assembly. Step 1, attaching the strut to the bottom of the seat has already failed. One of the 4 screws cannot be turned under any circumstances, I suspect a bad cut at the tip. To make matters worse the underside of the seat as shown in the picture had burn marks and was EXTREMELY soft wood like they couldn't even use cheap pine or plywood or something? This further aggravated the situation when the built in nut that the bolt was supposed to fit in worked loose and went past the plank of wood into the 'cushion' area, ensuring it couldn't be reassembled without the replace the entire seat. I do not think so. I've never gotten anything so bad from Amazon in my life and that's saying a lot considering I buy some cheap stuff off ebay that I expect to be half broken when it arrives, and yet has it surpassed that. You can literally use any other type of seatback material and it will be better than this. My advice to anyone thinking about it, don't do it. I thought the same as you, why not cheap, what could be worse? Trust me when I say negative reviewers are not wrong. There seems to be a major quality control issue, some get working parts while others remain in my predicament. It was supposed to be a gift for my dad who is working on some cars in the garage but buying it for someone would be disrespectful.
