Highly Recommended in Automotive Electronics

Pros: The build quality of this mirror is amazing. It's totally OEM - so the quality you'd expect from a high-end car. The flawlessness of the mirror glass itself, its sensors, buttons and auto-dimming function is simply outstanding. The compass and temperature LEDs are clear, not too bright, and placed in the right place. The video screen is completely hidden until turned on. The included mirror mounting hardware and cable management/hiding components are top notch. It also includes a temperature sensor at the end of a very long cable that can be routed anywhere under, in front or behind the vehicle. Good. The remote control is ok/quality. You can calibrate the temperature by 9 degrees and you can calibrate the compass. You can turn grid lines on or off. Did I mention this is an OEM quality mirror? It's very, very beautiful. Everything you need is included except for the camera. It was for wiring only (I used a tap-a-fuse cable that went to the radio fuse in the fuse box so it would work with the radio). Kit / ie this is their top gadget at the moment (You should know that rear cameras are the main reason people buy this mirror right? But it doesn't matter, it would just be nice to know that you can get *everything* You need, comes right out of the box. Especially for first-time installers of this setup. But I'm digressing. Let me continue.) The menu is only accessible via the wireless remote (so don't lose it!). The temp sensor on mine indicates the outside temp is much higher than the actual ambient temp (I installed it in the engine bay so I need to change the position to make sure it's not the engine temp causing this artificially high reading). .. But even if the car was parked outside for hours, the reading is still very high.) The compass is very difficult to calibrate: you have to drive a 5 meter circle (?) in 3 full revolutions at a speed that is slower than walking. speed to calibrate it. (My manual jeep isn't that slow. Maybe I should push it! So I need to recalibrate it as it's not accurate. It seems to be off about 20-30 degrees from the actual direction I'm aiming). The video does flicker (but I suspect it has to do with the camera and where I ran the RCA cable in the car i.e. next to the power and audio cables, more so than at the video screen itself. The menu on the video screen does NOT flickering - again it looks like it has something to do with the video cable of the camera itself). Conclusion: I can only recommend this mirror! It was more expensive than most other devices but had all the features I wanted (and more) and the quality was just outstanding! Competing devices I researched had *horrible* ratings in user reviews on (F)akespot(dotcom), so I was very lucky to find this device. If you're on the fence - go for it. That's a great unit!
