This system cannot be used with a PoE switch as it does not support PoE. This is the so-called "xpoe" (whatever that means). I have a rear camera with three cameras and a front camera right in the foreground. If I could use the switch to connect three cameras and an ethernet cable from the switch to the DVR, that would be a clean install. Instead, I need three long ethernet cables to connect to the back panel. Much less discreet. The cameras seem to be strong. The system seems to be quite fast. I just don't like that it's not real PoE and the title says "Easy PoE setup". If I knew XPOE != POE, I would _never_ order this product. UPDATE: I installed this camera system in a different location than originally planned instead of repackaging everything and sending Revain back. Here are some more thoughts after using it for a while. Pros and Cons: • It's great to be able to access it over the web without paying a subscription. The mobile app works flawlessly. • Mobile app is fine. Playback is lame. Some menus don't work or give an error. There are some errors in "hd/sd" video settings. The application is poorly translated into English, for example, it asks for a "mailbox" for mail. • I installed a larger hard drive. It seems to initialize fine. I had no problems with the installation. • I like the camera bodies and the way their installation works. They feel very durable and I like the foam pads on the bottom for weather protection. • I haven't had any problems with my own Ethernet cables. in the browser). Looks like a flash is required to view the video from the cameras. There doesn't seem to be any other functionality in the web app. • The cameras are displayed on the screen based on their physical position of the connectors on the NVR. There doesn't seem to be a way to change this virtually. • The motion detection does not work properly. The night light attracts bugs that trigger motion settings. They're small, but the software doesn't make a difference. • I installed my own Ethernet cables because the ones that came with them weren't weatherproof or were too short. I will continue the update later.
