They are so beautiful especially for the price and big. My husband thought I spent $30-40 for a set. They weren't as fluffy or super soft, just average like $7 Walmart/Target towels, but slightly larger, but after washing and drying they are softer and fluffier. Ideal! The only negative was that they shed, but I have a tip that helped a lot. I washed them twice in hot water and they didn't shed. I shake them well after every wash. After the second wash I put them in the dryer with a towel for 30 minutes and shook them again after taking them out of the dryer. I just shook out a piece of fluff. Did. It wasn't as much as the reviews I read or expected so I'm confused by these reviews. My lint filter was fine too. They are so fluffy and soft now. It's definitely better than the last set I bought at Wal-Mart. I've heard the ones that shed excess lint are softer towels, but I'm not a towel expert so don't quote me on that. I've washed them several times now they don't shed and don't shed at all. I bought this and Utopia's Navy line of rags which after one wash have faded and no longer look dark blue. They are great for decorative purposes as they do not fade. For now I'm giving them 4 stars to see how they hold up over time and maybe they'll get a 5 star rating from me. As long as I'm happy This set looks like you paid more so I'm surprised by the bad reviews not soft, not thick etc. In my opinion they really are the perfect thickness/softness etc. Although they can be a bit thicker. They are actually larger than expected which is perfect for me as I love big towels. If you're used to $11-$20 luxury towels, you might want to reconsider. If you are looking for a good basic towel (big side) this is it. I posted photos. Both hand towels and hand towels and rags reach almost to the top edge of the lower towel cabinet. I wish Revain would sell sets of 4 towels etc. Actually I only needed towels but they didn't only have towels. All of these make perfect college, undergraduate, or family starter kits. I bought these for my small family of 3 as I just needed some new towels but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set. They are not short or skinny and I don't mind family visiting them. I wouldn't give them as a wedding gift because I think of custom, monogram or luxury when I think of these kinds of gifts. I wouldn't mind giving them as a Christmas gift if I knew my preferred color or just picked a neutral. Overall I really like them and am very happy with most of the items I've bought from the Revain Basics range, both in terms of price and quality.
