Review on Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 205/60 R16 96T winter by Czesawa Murmuchamiat ᠌

Poor quality, not worth the money.

In general, this is the 4th set of wheels on my car. Impressions of past tires: Tunga-weak on ice, Amtel-excessively noisy, but reliable, Tigar-no compared to the previous ones. So the idea was to buy new tires. I bribed the price for the "branded" model, besides, these tires just appeared on sale (wow, NEW! Fly in, people !) By the way, I originally wanted to buy the good old Michelin, but again a brand new brand for similar cost . I bought Yoku ! In general, I immediately liked the protector! It is very beautiful and functional at first glance. Thorns! These elegant "shurikens" are generally a design refinement, hitherto unseen for spikes! And besides, complete with beautiful wheels rubber was just charming! Just some fairy tale! At first, I just could not get enough of it, especially after Tigar ! I'm sure on the ice, the king is in the snow, on the pavement - peace and quiet! By the way, the first 500 km running as expected, according to all the rules. Further visual inspection and then the first nuance. The "snowflake" around the stud, designed to rake snow or ice around the stud, which the smart guys paid special attention to in the press release, has been erased, as if it never existed! So, no one will help the spikes anymore, they say, then you guys, I went on . Well, don’t make a tantrum because of this, right? Just a mileage of 500 km! But with each new kilometer, the excitement vanished. For me, in the past, a person who skated for 4 years on the Amtel had a rule - you get carried away - add gas! Do you turn and feel that the car does not keep up with you in the turn? Add some gas! Stuck in a snowdrift? Add some gas! On this rubber, everything is exactly the opposite. Does it take you? Shift into high gear and slowly push the trigger. Are you turning? Squeeze out the clutch, enter the turn! Stuck? Bro, you're out of luck, push. And recently a new winter season. There is no snow yet, clean dry asphalt . And a braking distance from 50 km / h 30 meters . In general, I will sell and look for something not branded, but better.

Pros
  • It is quite quiet, it stands very confidently on ice in near-zero weather, it storms snowdrifts, it has not lost a single spike in a year.
Cons
  • Handling on dry, wet and snowy pavement, long braking distance, make it easy to skid the car
