Had a hard time wiring the control box. I'm not an electrician but I've done a lot of wiring and repairs and I feel like it should have been easier. The wiring instructions don't seem very clear, so I'll admit I may not have got it right, but my fan only spins in one direction, even though the control box can move forward/backward. I hooked mine up to an extension cord and ran it through my wall as I don't have a box in the ceiling and it worked pretty well, but the fan dangled too much for my low ceiling. I was able to trim the bar down to the minimum length to still accommodate the caps that slide over it and re-drill the required mounting holes. I was really surprised that it worked so well! Overall it's a good fan, I think maybe my room wasn't perfect and the price is definitely good.
