I'm not a professional music lover but I appreciate good sound and I sincerely want to say thank you for all the previous reviews on this product! I was completely unfamiliar with the Sangean, but while shopping for a new radio/clock for my newly renovated (and amazing looking bathroom) I stumbled upon this little gem. Although I spent a little more than I intended, the K-200 is worth every penny. This is my morning routine radio in my bathroom, which I would call "compact". This machine occupies only 20.25 square inches, while my "old" Sony Dream Machine (which served me very well) was about 56.25 square inches. That's a big deal for a small dressing table. Now more space for HAIR SPRAY! There's even more to this unit than I expected, such as RDS, which shows the artist name and song when tuned into a station that's broadcasting data. It was an unexpected bonus. The sound is "Bass" as described in many reviews I've read. It would be nice if there was a balance control, but I prefer bass, copper or scratch every day. The sound output is impressive for such a small device and if it's fairly quiet then it's mine. At home I can also listen to music in other rooms. The packaging was fantastic. After the "egg crate" was removed, the radio tape recorder itself was in a cloth bag, very nice. Very chic. LOLI needed almost no instructions to get started as it is very intuitive in design. Power cord and antenna: done, preset: done, clock?: a bit fiddly, but: done. Two relatively minor downsides; The "top" where most of the controls are located was a bit "loose" in its fit. Just a little sloppy look. I'm expecting a nice tight UI where the seams are even and very thin <-- totally aesthetic. Another, again aesthetic, is the SIZE of the AC/AC adapter (AKA power cord). Thing is HUGE! At nearly 12 cubic inches, it's an eyesore. Since it's in my aforementioned awesome looking bathroom where the plugs are at chest level and practically in your face, it's kind of a bummer. I'm such a geek that I'm seriously considering finding an alternative fork that looks and works great instead of blowing up this little thing :) Sangean should take Breville's advice, the cool looking ergonomic kind of cool looking forks power. To end on a positive note, I live almost exactly 40 miles south of Chicago and the reception is AMAZING! When I bought this house, one of the decisive factors was whether I could still receive my favorite stations. And so it was. And with this device, it's better than before. 5 Stars. Hooray!
