Review on TOMS Kids Classics Little Big Boys' Shoes by Dean Love

I felt the need to review this shoe because I spent a lot of time reading other customer reviews before ordering. I was very concerned that most of the reviewers were talking about unusual sizing issues with this shoe. I ordered these for my two boys and the other reviewers were absolutely right about the youth shoes being oversized. Absolutely HUGE. There's really no way to accurately convey the extent until you order them. However, I will try. My 10-year-old son normally wears a women's size 6.5 (I buy him Merrell unisex sneakers because he has narrow feet). So before you read all the customer reviews, I intended to to buy him a Tom's Youth 6. However, after reading customer reviews, I finally ordered a Youth 4.5 for him, even though it seemed completely stupid. But of course the other reviewers were right - even 4.5 is huge! I wear women's size 8 in my own Toms shoes and Toms Youth 4.5 fits ME! I laughed as I took the Youth 4.5 out of the box. I even took a photo of my red 8ft bitches next to the 4.5 black youth toms and they are almost the same size - see attached photos (also note that my 7.5/8ft bitch next to the 4.5 youth Tom!). So I just ordered the Youth 4 instead and I'm pretty sure my son still has to wear them with socks. My 7 year old son usually wears Youth 3. 5 other brands and his latest pair of Tom's (same style) The one I bought a year ago was a size 2. So I took a size 3 and when they arrived I saw he had to wear two pairs of socks with them. The difference even between half sizes is incredible! I should have gone for a 2.5, which would still be a full size smaller than his shoe size on all other brands of shoes. Because these are such unusual shoes, my sizing advice is to start off at least down a full size with the expectation that you may have to return them, and then down another 1/2 to a full size. It's strange but it's true. Please note that this shoe also has a lot of width as it is not very structured and stretches as fabric. As for other characteristics of youth shoes, so they're beautiful, supportive (more than the women's version) and durable (this is our second largest pair). My only complaint aside from being the wrong size is that the shoes collect a lot of lint due to the material they are made of and need regular maintenance rather than just throwing them in the shoe basket. That's why we're saving ours to 'use for when you're not wearing trainers' as they could easily pair with black dress pants and a nice t-shirt during the summer months when your boys are protesting and matching dress shoes wear .like mine do. In general, black is a beautiful, elegantly casual summer shoe. as they go well with black suit trousers and a nice t-shirt in the summer months, when your boys protest and wear proper dress shoes like mine do.
