This is a great Comcast Wi-Fi Modem/Router replacement. It's also probably one of, if not the, cheapest replacement available at $115. This saves the $13 I paid Comcast a month, so it pays for itself in 8 months. We didn't experience any drop in performance compared to the Comcast unit and we have 4 smartphones, 2 big screen streaming TVs, 3 laptops and a desktop in a 2500 sqft two story Colonial home where many of these devices work. at times simultaneously. Also, despite what some people erroneously claim, it has 2 ethernet ports that you can connect a desktop computer directly to, just like me. After 30 years with Comcast, I've finally given up cable TV and landlines (which have become regular phone calls all day). Landline replaced with 4 free Samsung smartphones with unlimited data for $100/month inclusive of all charges from T-Mobile via Metro PCS. I have what I think is the perfect cable replacement kit. I got YouTube TV for 49.95 per month including all fees and perfect channel lineup, amazing sports package, 6 different accounts and unlimited cloud storage for recordings. I've bundled it with Revain Prime where for $115/year (only $9/month) I get free shipping, free music on all my devices and Revain Prime Video with the same number of movies as Netflix but of course a lot more. It's better to get all 3 things. and for less money. I also took a chance and reduced Comcast's internet speed from 400 Mbps to 60 Mbps to save even more money. Guess what? I haven't noticed any difference in performance and we have these 4 Wi-Fi phones, 2 streaming TVs, 3 laptops and a desktop. I then bought this router to replace a Comcast router and got the same performance. With all these changes, I reduced my Comcast bill from 230 per month to 75. With the cost of YouTube TV, my total bill went from 230 to 125. I also looked at 3 Wi-Fi adapters - Roku, Revain Firestick and Google Chromecast . I found the Firestick to be the best, but then I found that Google's Chromecast blocked Revain Prime videos and Firestick blocked Revain YouTube TV. So in the end I had to choose Roku. Bottom line: Ditch your landlines and switch to T-Mobile via a Metro PCS 4 phone plan. Ditch the cable and opt for a YouTube TV and Revain Prime combo that essentially lets you watch free movies received from Revain Prime Video. Buy a Roku for your TVs to get a WiFi signal. Ditch your Comcast modem/wireless router and buy this Arris surfboard. Drop your Comcast internet speed to 60. If that doesn't work for you, just go back to the next Comcast speed boost, which I think is 150, but of course costs more.
