At first I bought these baking tins not only for bread, but also for meatloaf. Last night I made a turkey meatloaf with ketchup. I cooked meatloaf as usual - in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for an hour. When I took the pan out of the oven, I saw something shiny on the ketchup. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a piece of glass from the top of the pan. There was not just one fragment, but three. When I rinsed the pans in the sink with hot water and dish soap before use, I didn't notice any chips or cracks. So apparently it was the 350 degree high temperature of the oven that caused the splinters to pop out and fall onto the top of the meatloaf. Please note that these were not splinters, but large pieces of broken glass. I'm just glad I put my glasses on!
