Review on πŸš— 5M/16FT Auto Seal Weather Stripping Rubber Sealing Strip Trim Cover for Car Front Rear Windshield by EEEKit by Tai Waldbillig

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked on the rear window of a Lexus is250

So this was a purchase for the rear window not the front window. There is a leak in the rear which has resulted in a huge water and mold contamination in the rear trunk. Therefore, all the usual options were troublesome and potentially expensive. So I tried another product that looks good, but it was a harder rubber with a center rib. It looked good, but it didn't work in practice. This product is softer, more like a foamed rubber material. It's more flexible, and without that ridge in the middle, there's more adhesive surface for better adhesion. The amount provided is very generous and should give you extra funds should you run into any problems. I was struggling and needed every inch they gave me. Heat is your best friend. A warmer day will definitely make this glue more aggressive. You must also ensure that any wax or protectant is removed from your vehicle/glass. Every piece. I would give 5 stars if this sealing tape was a bit wider, at least 1/8 inch. look at my photos From the top of the car roof to the glass, it just had to be a little wider. As you can see there are spots on the driver's side and passenger's side where it doesn't adhere to the glass to the same degree. I only had a leak on the passenger side but I had to do the whole glass so it didn't look weird. So it worked out pretty well. At least a hint. No matter how hard I tried to press the two different pieces together firmly to keep the water from leaking out at that point, it didn't work. I also tried rounding this corner in one piece, which didn't look like it would get right, so I didn't quite go with that. I ended up using some silicone in that one corner otherwise the water leak is where the two pieces meet and work to get to where the leak was. Much less hassle than removing and resealing that large piece of glass and of course there is a risk of breaking the glass, no thanks. So in the end it worked. Do not use alcohol to clean surfaces if it is a 70 percent formulation that contains skin moisturizers. Use 90 percent or better. If you can't, alcohol wipes, like the camera lens cleaning wipes, are great for leaving little to no residue.
