Wood worktop arrived with obvious factory defects. Next to the broken branch on the tree is a huge dent from machining and the boards are uneven. The panel was obviously not planed after the boards were aligned. Strong but rough cast iron frame (no after treatment, thing peels like crazy). The brown "color" is a light spray/dust that doesn't fully cover the cast iron so it's rough on hands and will definitely rust if exposed to moisture. Everything is solid, the instructions are clear, the kit includes the necessary screws (no screwdriver, you will need it). If you're willing to go the extra mile to properly rust your frame, it's not a bad deal. That being said, the wood top was a big sellable feature and doesn't even qualify as "rustic". It's just bad production. I will contact the manufacturer to see if they can replace the top. If there are no updates for a month, that means they haven't replied or done anything.
