I am new to tap dancing and first bought the Bloch Tap-Flex Tap for women which is my street size (5.5m). They were a little tight, so I ordered the Capezio Flex Master Tap for women in a size 6. Although both brands fit well, I preferred the Bloch construction and returned the Capezio. Both shoes are good and sound great. Here's a comparison: Bloch Tap-Flex: - More oxford-like shape, wider at the tip and tapering towards the toe - Soft leather upper. The flexible outsole is stiffer than the Capezio from the factory. After a few weeks the flexibility has improved but still provides support. There are no seams around the support on the back of the shoe in the Achilles tendon area. The edge of the brace caused some rubbing, but a pair of socks doesn't cover anything. - Loved the short laces. Even if they come loose, they don't pose a threat. Master Capezio Flex: - The shape is different. They look and feel like ballet flats - super soft and flexible right out of the box. Actually too soft and flexible for me because I could feel the heel edge digging into the insole. It may take some time to get used to, but this feeling distracts me. The heel is quite long and protrudes forward almost to the arch of the foot. This is not a problem with larger shoes. The Bloch heel stayed well behind the arch of the foot. The blue insole sits comfortably on the heel but stops just past the arch of the foot. The pads and toes feel unfinished on the inside and I continued to feel the transition through my socks.
