Was expecting more of an "extend and click to lock into place" when expanding. However, you pull out the sections and then twist like you're putting up a shower-curtain rod. (?) The pole looked like it was going to snap apart in the middle. Then, I collapsed the pole and started over. I pulled out each section separately extending to the maximum distance. I then shortened the overall length by one foot for durability. I had to do this with each section. Hence, my 25' pole is now only 20'. Too bad they don't mention this in the ad. It was also unfortuate that there were no instructions telling me about this. I had to figure it out on my own.
