Works! Although the documentation and drivers are somewhat lacking. To reiterate what others have said and what works for me on Windows 10 after installing an activated T-Mobile SIM: - Plug in the drive - Install the included cricket software. If you don't use Cricket you just need the driver, but I haven't found an easy way to just get the driver from a trusted source. - Reboot and reconnect the drive - this step may not be necessary, but it won't hurt. - The cricket software will appear. close it Optionally go to Network Settings -> Portable Hotspot to view the status. - In my case, Windows takes a minute or two to detect and configure the modem and receive a signal. No additional configuration is required. For reference, this is a Huawei E397 modem. There is quite a lot of information on the internet about it, but there is no reliable source to just download the driver. The device is reported to work with both Linux and OSX, but it may take some searching to figure out how to set it up. I was only looking until I was sure it was possible, until I had a chance to try it on another machine later.
