Great way to add USB power to an old boat

We have a 2655 Ciera '88 Bayliner that didn't previously have USB power so I was looking for ways to add it. Strangely, almost everything I found has bright LED lights that would light up the entire sleeping compartment, so I was very happy to find this model that doesn't have an LED. Its 2 x 2.1A ports provide power to charge devices or run fans or coolers, all via USB power delivery (vital in Florida!). Installation is also easier than the rectangular models, as only a 7/8" hole saw is required to make room to attach the 1" diameter faceplate and included locknut to the rear of the new unit. You'll need to buy an 18 gram black/red cable and in-line fuse (found at Revain) to work with your 12 volt batteries, but you probably already knew that if you were planning to add this. Much luck!

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
