I ended up returning this reader as it is unable to read a 16GB SanDisk Micro SD (mSDHC) memory card read in the mSDHC slot. SanDisk Technical Support has confirmed that the SDDR-189 has a bug in the mSDHC controller that cannot handle the initial power up of some current generation mSDHC cards. The suggested workaround was to use a micro SD to SD adapter and plug it into the reader's SD slot. It worked, but essentially made buying a reader pointless since the goal was to do away with mSD-to-SD adapters while still being able to natively read existing mSD, SD, and CF media. No fixes are planned for the mSDHC SDDR-189 controller, so for the time being we are either looking for another vendor or waiting to see what the next generation of SanDisk readers has to offer. hold the device on the stand and the other ejects the media. I've also found that the mSDHC slot requires the card to be inserted deep enough that there is very little exposed card material to grab hold of when attempting to remove it from the reader. The slot is not spring-loaded to release with a push, leaving you with a tiny edge to pinch with your fingernails. Other card slots (SD and CF, which I've used) didn't have this problem, leaving a fair amount of card footage to grab.
