Review on πŸ’„ Jane Iredale Pure & Simple Makeup Kit: Complete Look with Mineral Foundation, Blush, Eye Shadow, and Lip & Cheek Stain by Nikki Kelley

Great products overall but weird warm undertones in medium light set

I used a mineral base over a light moisturizer and hydrating base tape primer. This is definitely a medium opacity sheer product, it takes more coats to get a medium opacity than I want to play around with. I used my own brushes. I applied additional product to areas that needed more coverage without looking blotchy. However the redness around my nose wouldn't go away so I used Oyster shadow in that area and then applied foundation - worked great! I like the finish, it seems light but this product does nothing to hide dark circles under the eyes and it made the area look crepey. I used my regular concealer very lightly to solve this problem. I applied a light moisturizing setting spray when I finished my makeup and my skin looks healthy. No wrinkles or creases which is a problem for me with other mineral foundations. I don't know what they thought about blush and lip color. The blush in this set is brown. I tried it as a blush - ik. It works well as a light contour shade (ideal for winter). Lipstick ORANGE. It has a very nice moisturizing effect like a balm but leaves a stain for longevity. Color can be created but I doubt you'll ever get full coverage. I brushed it off because it just didn't go with my skin tone without a touch of pink. There was a pop of color on my lips that I would have liked with the right color. I can only buy lipstick in the right shade. The Medium Light Kit should have neutral tones. Pink peach blush and lipstick would be better. The eyeshadows are wonderful. Good color pays off. Applies silky. I love the plum tone with my blue-green eyes. I'll try the foundation for a few more days and if it continues to work well I'll probably buy it for some quick "light makeup" days. Bare Minerals and PUR didn't suit me - they got stuck in fine lines and enlarged pores. JI Mineral Makeup is definitely a game changer. On some websites I see this kit in a limited range of shades for $18 so take a closer look before you buy.
