I swapped out the 285 7-inch for a new one. As two-gigabyte RAM sevens were no longer available, I had to settle with an eight-inch model. She had already committed to taking Samsung, so she had no choice. Lenovo, with its dark display, and Huawei, with its smartphone-like settings (and, consequently, the erroneous operation of some programs I need), were instantly discarded. Because of this, I am making do with what I have. There really aren't any second thoughts. Even in direct sunlight, you can read the screen. Powerful sound from the speaker system; a substantial improvement over the 285's output. It has a good battery life, enough for two days of casual reading or gaming (against 1 day for Huawei). Though the screen's resolution is modest, it doesn't get in the way, and reading it is easy. Minimal and feathery in weight. Put together properly, no failures to respond. Wonderful bluetooth; I was able to talk freely from a distance of 20 meters while using a headset (at 285 - at 5m) Sometimes loses momentum. It's weird and annoying that the charging port is at the bottom, as most phones are designed to be used horizontally. Limiting in length is the length of the charging cable. The colors don't seem great, but don't expect photorealism. Okay camera quality (as on all tablets in this price category). The sound quality is compromised because the speakers are placed so low. The GPS is less accurate than on a 7-inch screen, but still usable. A stupid design that combines the SIM card and memory card trays into one and has a cable that always unravels. Okay, so 8 inches is just too big for a lady's hand, but 7 is just right. Just what is making me so angry right now. In this configuration, using my tablet as a phone is a form of torture. If you can't utilize a headset or speakerphone, please. There is an extreme lack of volume from the speaker. And they succeeded in rendering the otherwise superior Samsung keyboard useless. While the letters are a reasonable size in the English style, they are practically minuscule in the 2022 layout, making it a challenge to use. Overall, it was acceptable and well worth the cost. And, unfortunately, you have no other option. I detested working with advisors while picking a model. Initially, I was set on having a 7-inch screen, but they repeated over and again, "Take a smartphone with a diagonal of 6.8 inches!" A screen that he's seen exactly 1.5 times already?! For me, it brought to mind the old Soviet joke about the notothenia fish.
